My research focuses on metropolitan governance, particularly how local governments and public managers gather and use information and resources when making decisions. I’m especially interested in how these decisions are made in the context of complex, cross-jurisdictional challenges like sustainable development. Ultimately, I study how decision-makers choose among different institutional mechanisms and resources, and whether those choices support continued commitment to long-term policy goals.
